Duhu 4 is almost here
We still need $1,600 to fully fund Duhu 4. Donate now
I love when people ask me about our strategy for launching Duhu and I laugh and say, "We just did it."
We researched curriculum, talked to a lot of girls and then sat around my friend's dining room table and decided we had gotten as far as we could without just trying it to see if it would work. The cool thing is: it worked. The girls came, they learned some cool stuff and now they are using it in their lives and sharing it with others.
Shemsa (Duhu 2) was placed as an intern with one of our partnering tech businesses, Muraho Technology. She did so well, she was hired as a full time employee and is now paying for her own university fees and helping to pay one of her friends.
Sister duo, Anais and Raissa (Duhu 3), took what they learned in our pilot Creating Entrepreneurs class, shared it with their mom who is in the process of setting up a flour processing business.
Because of the partnership with the organization who developed the purity curriculum we use, Queen (Duhu 2) attended a training to learn how to use the curriculum in a summer camp setting. She will be attending her first camp session as a counselor this year.
Beaute (Duhu 1) followed her passion of studying political science to be an educated leader in her country. She has come back on her school break to intern for Duhu 4.
Within Duhu we have trained 77 young women and 3 trainers on various curriculums.
For Duhu 4, we have added more in depth financial sessions to help the participants have a stronger grasp on personal budgeting and a Bible study called Pathway to Purpose: Women Answer to God's Call to Leadership led by Belay Global team member Kortney Bannick.
We need $1,600 to have Duhu 4 completely funded. On July 7, we will have an open English Exam to find who will be the next participants for Duhu 4. Those who pass will have an interview to be selected to start class on July 14.
What happens if we don't have the remaining $1,600 before July 14? It's ok, many of the expenses can be paid throughout the training, for example, trainers are not paid until the completion of the training. With each class, we have started and throughout the training, people stepped up to cover the final expenses.
Please help us start Duhu 4 fully funded!
