"One More" for Joe

I introduced "Joe's One More Drive" last week, for the full story, click here

A family at our church here in Rwanda has made it their mission to help abandoned children. Faith and Roger Shaw have 18 children they are currently taking care of...with a little help from some "aunties". The Shaw's are currently in process of developing a fish farm, which, in the future will not only financially sustain their large family, but will help teach the children a trade. More information here. In honor of the life of my friend Joe, who dedicated his life to helping others. I am asking you--my friends and family--to adopt this precious family.

You can help in several ways:
1) Pick one or more of the children to shop for. Clothes, underwear, socks and shoes are the greatest need, but we also want the children to have a special toy just for them. We will be collecting the items in Oklahoma and then sending them with someone who will be traveling (it is cheaper and more dependable to have someone bring the items over). We have decided it will be best to just have everything collected in Oklahoma and then ship everything together. So if you are out of state, you can just send it to my friend there.

2) Sponsor one of the kid's school fees

3) Donate money to help with taking care of the kids. They go through about 55lbs of rice a month (and that's just the rice).

These children have come to Faith and Roger with different stories; some were orphaned when their town was flooded killing many in a mudslide, some were left in Faith's garden because people know about her ministry to these kids, some were left by a family member (knowing that according to Rwandan laws they can't be adopted if a family member is living). There are so many orphaned children and Faith and Roger have made a commitment to be the hands and feet of Jesus, helping those who are considered "the least". Matthew 25:40 ".... I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
